This Laborer position is designed for individuals who perform tasks requiring physical ability and effort, with little need for specialized skill or prior experience. The role is integral to maintaining operations in Kodiak, AK, and may involve exposure to dust, rain, refuse, landfill waste, water, and extreme heat or cold. Work is primarily outdoors, requiring driving and the ability to work in natural conditions, though some indoor tasks involving paint and cleaning supplies may occur. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required for specific tasks.
As a condition of employment, candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screening and obtain acceptable reference and background check results to gain access to military bases. Reliable transportation is necessary to commute to work and access military installations. Additionally, pursuant to the collective bargaining agreement with Teamsters Local 959, employees in this position must become and remain a member in good standing with the Union or pay an agency fee.
