The Junior Food Buyer plays a vital role in ensuring the profitable procurement and timely delivery of products for assigned lines. Working onsite five days a week in Great Neck, NY, this position serves as a key link between the Sr. Director of Purchasing, Senior Buyers, and various operational teams. The role is designed to support the company's goals by managing supply chain and inventory for promotional categories while maintaining strict financial accountability.
In this position, you will interface with vendors, store operations, distribution centers, and division office personnel to build strong working relationships. The day-to-day involves reviewing acquisition costs, assessing market conditions, and forecasting order quantities to meet demand. You will also conduct post-promotional analyses to identify problem areas and resolve inventory issues at the store level. Additionally, the role requires coordinating with Warehouse Operations to ensure proper product flow and managing Accounts Payable variance processes to guarantee accurate invoicing.
