The Food Buyer is a pivotal member of the procurement team, responsible for the profitable acquisition and timely delivery of products across assigned lines. This role exists to ensure the company meets its financial and operational goals by balancing cost efficiency with product quality and service reliability. You will work closely with the Sr. Director of Purchasing and Senior Buyers to drive supply chain excellence and inventory management for promotional categories.
In this position, you will serve as the bridge between the company's strategic objectives and on-the-ground execution. Your day involves analyzing market conditions and inventory levels to forecast demand, negotiating with vendors to secure the best costs, and resolving complex billing or allocation issues at the store level. You will also collaborate with store operations, distribution centers, and the merchandising team to ensure seamless product flow and program implementation.
This is a fully onsite role based in Great Neck, NY, requiring a 5-day work week. While the position is primarily office-based, remote access to the buying system is available when necessary to support specific operational needs.
