The Wholesale Food Company is seeking a dedicated Candy Buyer to drive profitable procurement and ensure the timely delivery of products for assigned lines. This role is pivotal in supporting the company's goals by working closely with the Sr. Director of Purchasing and Senior Buyers. The Candy Buyer will manage supply chain and inventory operations for promotional categories while maintaining strict financial accountability.
In this position, you will interface with various departments and division personnel to foster strong working relationships with vendors, store operations, distribution centers, and the division office. Your day-to-day involves reviewing acquisition costs to secure the best possible product costs, quality, and service, while ensuring all company policies and procedures are strictly adhered to. You will assess market conditions and inventory levels to forecast order quantities, conduct post-promotional analysis to refine strategies, and resolve inventory or billing discrepancies at the store level.
The role requires a balance of analytical rigor and operational agility. You will review daily and weekly reports to monitor costs, service levels, and inventory turns, making necessary adjustments to optimize performance. Additionally, you may visit stores to monitor program implementation and gather feedback, while coordinating with Warehouse Operations to maintain efficient product flow. Remote access to the buying system is available when necessary to support flexible work needs.
