As a Grocery Buyer, you will be the driving force behind the profitable procurement and timely delivery of products for your assigned lines. This role is critical to ensuring our supply chain operates efficiently, working closely with the Sr. Director of Purchasing and Senior Buyers to achieve company goals. You will manage supply chain and inventory for promotional categories while holding financial accountability for your portfolio.
Your day-to-day involves forecasting demand to place orders, negotiating for the best product costs, quality, and service, and analyzing market conditions to make strategic recommendations to the merchandising team. You will review acquisition costs to balance price with quality and reliability, conduct post-promotional analyses to refine future strategies, and resolve inventory issues at the store level. Additionally, you will coordinate with Warehouse Operations to ensure proper product flow and manage Accounts Payable variances to guarantee accurate invoicing.
This is an onsite position requiring you to work 5 days a week at our corporate headquarters in College Point, NY. While the role is based in the office, remote access to the buying system is available from home or off-site locations when necessary to support your workflow.
