Labor One is seeking Journey-Level Riggers for a specialized project in San Diego, California. About the Team & Environment
You will be working in a dynamic shipyard setting that ranges from normal office conditions to wet, humid, and extreme temperature environments. The work involves navigating vessels, piers, docks, and various work sites, often requiring movement at heights, in confined spaces, and around moving mechanical parts. The environment is frequently loud, necessitating strict adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this position, candidates must possess shipyard experience and a strong mechanical aptitude. You should have a working knowledge of rigging procedures, ship terminology, blueprint reading, and job specifications. Proficiency in selecting and operating lifting equipment—including cables, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves—is required, along with the ability to interpret crane load charts and rigging testing requirements.
