Inventory Specialist

About the Role

As a key member of the Walgreens team, you will serve as the operational backbone for both the front end and pharmacy departments. This role is designed to ensure the seamless flow of inventory, maintain strict compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and deliver a distinctive customer experience. You will act as a liaison between management and team members, coaching others on inventory systems while championing On-Shelf Availability and asset protection.

In this position, you will manage the end-to-end inventory lifecycle, from receiving and counting deliveries to pricing, markdowns, and returns. Whether verifying pharmacy shipments under the supervision of the pharmacist-in-charge or managing front-end stockroom operations, your attention to detail ensures that the store remains compliant with state and local laws regarding regulated products. You will also play a vital role in customer satisfaction by greeting shoppers, resolving issues, and modeling service best practices.

Day in the Life

Your day begins with ensuring the store is ready for business, including system start-ups and floor preparation. You will coordinate the receipt of all deliveries, focusing on accurate scanning and timely reporting of shortages or damages. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to inventory accuracy, performing smart counts, managing planograms, and executing disposals or returns for expired or damaged goods.

When serving as the Leader on Duty, your responsibilities expand to include opening and closing the store, managing cash handling, and overseeing point-of-sale transactions. You will also coach team members on package delivery activities and the Pickup Program, ensuring that every interaction reflects Walgreens' commitment to service excellence.

Hiring Process
