ConocoPhillips Alaska is seeking an Instrument Technician V to support its largest operating area on the North Slope. This segment includes significant ownership interests in the Prudhoe Bay, Kuparuk, and Western North Slope assets. The role is based at the Alpine and Kuparuk Fields, offering a remote North Slope assignment within a dynamic, high-stakes industrial environment.
Reporting directly to the E/I Maintenance Supervisor, this Journeyman-level position is critical to maintaining safe and reliable facility operations. You will function within the maintenance organization, supporting both drill sites and production facilities. The role involves a hands-on day-to-day rhythm of maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, commissioning, and installing instrumentation and automation systems. You will work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, engineering, and contractor personnel to ensure the integrity of electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated control equipment.
This position operates on a 14 Days On / 14 Days Off rotational schedule in a remote Arctic environment. You will work in temperature extremes and severe weather conditions, both inside facilities and from company-provided vehicles. As a designated Safety Sensitive role, a commitment to ConocoPhillips' "Zero Incident" culture is essential. You are expected to actively participate in safety programs, adhere to strict safe work practices, and demonstrate accountability for your actions and the safety of your team.

10+ years of field instrumentation experience. 1+ year of experience installing, commissioning, and maintaining oil & gas process equipment and automation control systems. 1+ year of experience in a commissioning or maintenance leadership role with demonstrated technical growth and increasing responsibilities. Experience utilizing a computerized maintenance management system (SAP preferred). Demonstrated ability to deliver Zero Incident HSE Results. Active participation and leadership in a Zero Incident Culture environment. Ability to read, interpret, and red-line P&IDs. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. North Slope, oil & gas automation, PLC/DCS/SIS, commissioning, SAP, and P&ID experience.
