The Grantham Maintenance Supervisor serves as the operational leader for all maintenance activities at the Grantham NH Sawmill & Yard. This role is critical for sustaining production results by overseeing preventative maintenance planning, scheduling, and the efficient execution of all maintenance items. The position exists to bridge the gap between technical execution and strategic cost control, ensuring that labor and supply expenses are managed effectively without compromising safety or output.
In this capacity, you will lead a team of maintenance professionals, fostering a culture of professionalism and motivation to drive productivity. Your day-to-day involves coordinating complex maintenance workflows, from managing inventory and purchasing consumable parts to ensuring compliance with rigorous safety standards. You will be responsible for maintaining a diverse array of assets, including sawmill machinery, waste and dust collection systems, yard equipment, compressors, and dry kilns at the Springfield location.
The role requires a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and repair, particularly for electrical systems up to 480 volts, including 3-phase motors and VFDs. Beyond technical repairs, you will interpret and optimize automated system performance parameters, install and program electrical and electronic devices, and analyze production trends to identify and solve recurring causes of downtime. A significant portion of the week is dedicated to proactive maintenance, requiring you to work approximately 20% of your time during non-production hours to ensure facilities remain ready for operation.
Candidates selected for this role will be expected to demonstrate a strong background in industrial electrical environments and the ability to work with minimal supervision. The selection process focuses on verifying technical proficiency with PLC controls, pneumatic systems, and CMMS platforms, alongside the ability to prioritize tasks and adhere to strict safety protocols.
We are committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment where all team members can thrive. Safety is not just a policy but a core value; the role requires strict enforcement of LOTO, Hot Work permits, PPE usage, and other standard safety compliance items. We encourage applicants from all backgrounds to apply, as we believe diverse perspectives strengthen our maintenance operations and overall company culture.
