About the Department

The Department of Art, Art History, and Design at Michigan State University is establishing a pool of fixed-term assistant professors and instructors. These positions are filled on a per-course, per-semester basis to address immediate program needs. The department is open to all fields within art history and is committed to an academic culture that actively seeks out and strengthens diverse voices and perspectives to achieve true excellence.

About the Role

This role involves teaching undergraduate courses in art history, serving both the Art History program and MSU's Integrated Studies in Arts and Humanities program. Positions are available on an as-needed basis, with the potential to begin as early as January 2025. The department seeks candidates who view intellectual leadership as achieved through open access and proactive inclusion.
