Founded in 1965, the Chinese-American Planning Council (CPC) is the nation's largest Asian American social services organization. As a trusted community anchor, CPC advances the social and economic well-being of immigrant and low-income New Yorkers through holistic services and community-led impact. CPC Education and Career Services (ECS) bridges youth and adults with their highest educational, economic, and leadership potential. Guided by the belief that it is never too early or too late to start learning, ECS utilizes an asset-based approach to maximize clients' current strengths. Whether in schools, community centers, or internship sites, ECS creates equitable learning environments that promote leadership development, self-advocacy, and community building.
The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP), funded by the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development, provides New York City youth (ages 14–24) with paid summer work experience and project-based learning opportunities. Participants engage in entry-level positions across various sectors while attending workshops on job readiness, career exploration, financial literacy, and life skills.
As a seasonal Facilitator, you will play a vital role in empowering youth through interactive, project-based learning. Under the supervision of the Program Director, you will design and facilitate workshops focused on positive youth development, including life skills, leadership, work readiness, financial literacy, and healthy living. Your day-to-day involves engaging with participants both in-person and virtually, coordinating guest speakers and community service opportunities, and tracking participant progress. This role is designed for those passionate about equipping young people with the essential skills and experiences they need to take the next step in their lives.
