About the Role
The Inpatient RN CAP 2 position serves as a foundational designation within the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP) for new employees or those advancing from CAP 1. As a vital member of the kidney disease healthcare team, you will be accountable for providing and coordinating clinically competent care, encompassing assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for an assigned group of patients.
In this role, you will function as a resource, leader, and mentor, setting examples of appropriate behavior and work habits for both new and incumbent staff. You will actively participate in decision-making, teaching, and quality improvement activities designed to enhance patient care outcomes and program operations. Whether serving as a designated Nurse in Charge or collaborating with educators and preceptors, your work ensures the continuity of care across Fresenius Kidney Care facilities and contracted locations.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleAdminister medications and intradialytic transfusions as prescribed
- check_circleDirect and coordinate safe patient care for all modality specific treatment procedures
- check_circleInitiate and assist with emergency response measures for patient safety
- check_circleCoordinate communication with dialysis providers to ensure continuity of care
- check_circleProvide patient and family education on basic learning needs and treatment plans
- check_circleServe as a resource, mentor, and role model for new and incumbent employees
- check_circlePerform ongoing collection and analysis of patient data pre, during, and post treatment
- check_circleSupervise and delegate tasks to direct patient care staff including LPNs and technicians
- check_circleCollaborate with health team members to report and address abnormal patient status
- check_circleAssess, plan, and evaluate clinically competent care for assigned patient groups
Requirements
- verifiedCurrent appropriate state licensure
- verifiedCurrent or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- verifiedMinimum 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience in the last 2 years as an RN
