Founded in 1901, the MRA is a nonprofit employer association serving over 4,000 employers and more than one million employees across the nation. As one of the largest employer associations in the country, MRA partners directly with member organizations' HR departments and leadership to build successful workplaces and a powerful workforce. We are a direct line to the company, not an agency recruiter.
The Human Resources Leave & Disability Specialist at the United Community Center in Milwaukee, WI, serves as a critical compliance and support hub for employee well-being. This role exists to ensure the organization navigates the complex intersection of federal, state, and local laws while supporting employees through medical leave, disability, and workplace injuries.
In this position, you will manage the full lifecycle of leave administration, from the initial notice of an employee's need for leave to their successful return to work. You will act as a trusted advisor to both managers and employees, clarifying how leave laws interact with paid time off, workers' compensation, and disability benefits. Your day-to-day involves coordinating with insurance carriers, maintaining strict confidentiality of medical records, and ensuring that all accommodations and return-to-work programs are executed with integrity and precision.
