The HR Generalist is a key member of the on-site HR team supporting Wabtec's Fort Worth Locomotive Manufacturing Facility. This role operates within a collaborative campus HR model, working alongside HR colleagues who support the Mining Equipment Manufacturing and Warehouse facilities under shared policies and procedures. The team provides hands-on HR support to both hourly and salaried employees across a fast-paced, multi-shift manufacturing operation.
As a front-line HR partner, you will serve as the primary point of contact for employees and supervisors, addressing day-to-day people needs while executing core HR processes. You will partner closely with front-line supervisors and managers to deliver consistent, compliant, and employee-centered services. Your work will be critical in fostering positive employee relations, ensuring policy and legal compliance, supporting staffing and onboarding, and reinforcing performance and attendance expectations.
You will balance responsiveness with sound judgment, supporting leaders in people-related decision-making and escalating complex or high-risk issues to the Senior HR Manager as appropriate. This position requires a deep understanding of the manufacturing environment, where you will promote a respectful, inclusive, and compliant workplace culture through consistent policy application and employee engagement.
Your day will involve serving as the first point of contact for HR-related questions and concerns, conducting preliminary investigations for employee matters, and supporting workforce planning efforts including shift coverage and internal movement coordination. You will partner with supervisors to reinforce expectations related to attendance, performance, safety, and conduct, while administering employment life-cycle processes such as transfers, promotions, leaves of absence, and terminations.
Additionally, you will support site and campus-wide HR initiatives, participate in process improvement efforts to enhance service delivery, and collaborate with other HR Generalists and Coordinators to ensure consistent execution and knowledge sharing.
To be considered for this role, please submit your application with a resume highlighting your experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Candidates should demonstrate 2–5 years of HR Generalist experience, preferably in a manufacturing, operations, or industrial environment with a focus on supporting hourly employee populations.
