About the Indiana State Personnel Department (INSPD)

Operating a shared services model, INSPD provides the executive branch of state government with top-notch HR services. Our dedicated team of human resources professionals works in many capacities, including director-level, generalists, and specialists in each discipline of human resources. Joining our team opens the door to many opportunities for lateral and upward mobility.

A Day in the Life

As a Workforce Strategy & Performance Specialist, you will serve as a liaison between assigned state agencies and the State Personnel Department to coordinate human resources functions. Your day will involve providing consultation and guidance to agency executives and local office staff regarding HR issues, assisting in the identification of classification and compensation problems, and reviewing agency policies and performance forms.

You will regularly utilize your customer service, teaching, and data analysis skills to facilitate training on HR topics, conduct new employee orientations, and compile reports from the Human Resource Information System. Keeping abreast of new legislative developments and court cases that impact your work is also a key part of the role. This position is exempt from overtime compensation; exempt employees must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and/or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.
