The Homeowners Assistant Closer serves as a vital support component for Loss Mitigation Specialists, operating under minimal supervision to prepare legal agreements and manage system-related tasks. This role is essential to the success of the Loss Mitigation department and its monthly volume, handling files across early, mid, and late stages of delinquency, including loss mitigation, bankruptcy pre-charge-off, and charge-off recovery collections.
In this position, you will act as a liaison with Consumer Loan Operations, ensuring data integrity by auditing remittances from borrowers and attorneys. You will be responsible for all Loss Mitigation legal agreements, including modification agreements, forbearance plans, and short sale agreements. The role requires applying knowledge of default concepts and workout tools to review and negotiate workouts based on departmental policies. You will also handle customer payments, instructions, and the application of payments, while completing audit checks of files and resolving complex problem requests in collaboration with legal counsel.
