We are seeking a skilled Help Desk Specialist to provide technical support and end-user assistance within a large-scale enterprise IT environment supporting the Maryland Department of Health (MDH). As the first point of contact for the team, you will be instrumental in troubleshooting desktop hardware, software, printers, servers, and network-related issues. This role is vital for maintaining operational continuity and ensuring that enterprise systems and infrastructure operations run smoothly.
In this position, you will not only resolve technical incidents but also collaborate with infrastructure, networking, security, and application support teams to address complex operational challenges. You will have the opportunity to create automation solutions to improve efficiency, manage Active Directory environments, and ensure compliance with strict security standards set by MDH, the Office of Enterprise Technology (OET), and the Maryland Department of Information Technology (DoIT). The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, combining technical expertise with excellent communication skills to deliver responsive support to users across the organization.

Microsoft certifications (Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, MCSA, MCSA/MCSE). Experience supporting Maryland State Government or other public sector enterprise environments. Familiarity with ITIL processes, service management frameworks, and enterprise ticketing systems. Experience supporting enterprise security compliance, endpoint management, and infrastructure modernization initiatives. Knowledge of scripting and automation technologies including PowerShell or related tools.

Education: Bachelor's degree in related technical discipline required, but 3+ years equivalent experience may substitute.
