Located at the Rochester Methodist Campus within Surgical Services, the Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) provides organizational, receptionist, and clerical support to patient care units and the healthcare team. This role plays an integral part in communication across the continuum of care, functioning as a resource to team members who are familiar with multiple Mayo Clinic resources.
In this position, you will monitor and order supplies, promptly answer patient call lights, and elevate patient needs to nursing staff. The HUC activities complement the patient care delivery model, requiring you to carry out all aspects of the job using good judgment, problem-solving skills, and strong interpersonal abilities. You will support the healthcare team by anticipating and responding to team requests and patient needs, assuming responsibility for self-development and participating in continuous improvement activities.
