About the Role

The Head of Development serves as the strategic architect of Preston's financial sustainability and mission advancement. Reporting directly to the Principal, this role is responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy that strengthens the school's long-term viability. You will act as a visible ambassador of Preston's values, building deep relationships with alumnae, parents, parish communities, foundations, and benefactors.

In this position, you will lead all aspects of annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, and grant development. Your day-to-day involves cultivating donor pipelines, planning and executing community-building events, and collaborating with school leadership to align development priorities with institutional needs. You will support the Principal in donor meetings and stewardship activities, ensuring that every interaction reflects the school's Catholic identity and strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • check_circleIdentify, write, and submit competitive grants to foundations, corporations, and philanthropic organizations
  • check_circleExpand scholarship funding through targeted donor cultivation and grant acquisition
  • check_circleManage donor pipelines, cultivation strategies, and stewardship practices
  • check_circleBuild strong relationships with alumnae, parents, parish communities, foundations, and benefactors
  • check_circleMaintain accurate donor records and reporting systems
  • check_circleProvide regular updates to the Principal and Board on fundraising progress
  • check_circleEnsure compliance with Archdiocesan norms and ethical fundraising standards
  • check_circlePartner with Communications to develop compelling fundraising materials and campaigns
  • check_circleSupport the Principal in donor meetings, solicitations, and stewardship activities
  • check_circleOversee campaign planning and execution, integrating campaign revenue into annual development goals
  • check_circleDevelop and implement a multi-year development plan aligned with strategic and financial goals

Requirements
