The Government Guaranteed Loan Processor & Closer II serves as a critical linchpin in the loan origination lifecycle, bridging the gap between members, lenders, sales agents, and external partners. This role is dedicated to ensuring that government-guaranteed loans are processed, documented, and closed with precision, efficiency, and strict adherence to Credit Union, SBA, and USDA guidelines.
Beyond the mechanics of closing, this position is driven by a commitment to delivering an exceptional member experience. You will act as a proactive communicator, guiding borrowers and internal teams through complex regulatory landscapes while mitigating risk to protect the Credit Union's guaranty. The role requires a deep understanding of diverse loan structures, from SBA 7(a) to 504 programs, ensuring that every transaction supports a low PARRiS score and maintains the institution's reputation for reliability.
Your workday involves a dynamic blend of analytical review and cross-functional collaboration. You will analyze business loan structures to determine necessary due diligence, preparing detailed Master Needs Lists and coordinating the collection of third-party reports such as title commitments, flood certifications, and lien searches. A significant portion of your time is spent ensuring compliance with regulations like CIP, BSA, ECOA, and OFAC, while simultaneously managing the closing timeline to meet the expectations of both the borrower and the Credit Union.
You will serve as the primary coordinator for the closing process, working alongside internal attorneys, title companies, and external vendors to clear liens and resolve underwriting conditions. From preparing loan documentation in LaserPro to coordinating Debenture funding for 504 loans, your focus remains on accuracy and timeliness. You will also play a coaching role, guiding internal business partners through government guaranteed lending processes and assisting with member inquiries to ensure timely resolutions.
Candidates selected for this role will undergo a review of their experience with SBA lending and SOP compliance. The selection process emphasizes the ability to manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines and demonstrates a strong work ethic aligned with the Credit Union's success.
