About the Role
The Club Manager is the leader of a BJ's club, responsible for driving operations and profitability while delivering on company strategic priorities. This role is about more than just managing numbers; it is about creating a club culture where team members feel challenged, know how to succeed, and are recognized for their accomplishments. You will lead with vision, manage talent to build a strong bench, and ensure the team embraces the company's core values to exceed member expectations.
Your Day-to-Day
As a Club Manager, you will balance high-level strategic goals with hands-on leadership. You will communicate clearly to enable your team to do their jobs effectively, explaining the "why" behind decisions and keeping messaging simple. Your day involves monitoring local competition and retail trends, controlling operating costs, and implementing new concepts to maximize profitability. You will maintain a roadmap for achieving targets in key performance areas such as productivity, audit, shrink, and turnover, while ensuring the club meets planned sales and profit objectives.
Onboarding and Development
BJ's offers a comprehensive onboarding program for newly hired Club Managers designed to help you develop the skills needed to be successful quickly. During this 8-12 week program, you will be partnered with best-in-class Club Managers and other BJ's leaders. This mentorship allows you to learn best practices, connect leadership concepts to real-life BJ's scenarios, and build essential internal connections.
Hiring Process
Candidates selected for this role will participate in a structured interview process to assess leadership capabilities, operational knowledge, and cultural fit. Successful candidates will then enter the comprehensive onboarding program described above.
