The General Manager in Tupelo, MS, serves as the operational heartbeat of the store, driving the execution of the store plan to achieve established standards, sales targets, and profitability. This role is pivotal in maximizing customer satisfaction through effective staffing, personnel training, and the seamless maintenance of store operations.
The position exists to ensure the store not only meets its financial goals but also fosters a strong community presence through local marketing initiatives. The General Manager responds dynamically to market conditions and competitor activities, developing and executing strategies to protect and grow store business.
Your day involves a balance of strategic planning and hands-on leadership. You will set monthly budget goals, analyze P&L information, and communicate anticipated variances to the District Manager. A significant portion of your time is dedicated to people development: hiring crew, maintaining bench strength in the management team, and providing continuous training on Quality, Service, and Cleanliness (Q.S.C.) standards.
You will lead by example, conducting walk-throughs to gauge product and service quality, resolving customer complaints within 24 hours, and ensuring the store maintains a safe, clean, and efficient environment. From managing inventory levels to mentoring managers on problem-solving and shift leadership, you will be responsible for cultivating a high-performing culture that prioritizes retention and operational excellence.
