Walmart is expanding its workforce to support a dynamic, fast-paced environment where innovation, teamwork, and excellence are core values. As the U.S.'s largest private employer, we aim to create a culture where every associate feels valued and rooted in respect for the individual. Our vision is "everyone included," fostering a workplace where everyone is—and feels—included. Approximately 90% of the U.S. population lives within 10 miles of a Walmart or Sam's Club, meaning our associates and customers reflect the diverse makeup of America and the 18 other countries where we operate.
As a General Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will be the backbone of our local and regional retail operations, executing routine maintenance tasks to uphold the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of our stores, equipment, and fixtures. Operating under the supervision of the local General Maintenance Manager, you will adhere to established maintenance schedules and guidelines. Your day-to-day involves conducting inspections, cleaning, and repairing facilities, utilizing multiple craft skills such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and material handling. You will respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls and use work order management systems to document repair activities, ensuring our stores remain welcoming and functional for our customers.
Candidates selected for this role will be invited to an interview process where additional bonus opportunities and specific compensation details will be disclosed. The process is designed to assess your fit within our team and your ability to contribute to our mission of serving customers with quality goods at everyday low prices.
Walmart Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We believe we are best equipped to help our associates, customers, and the communities we serve live better when we really know them. This means understanding, respecting, and valuing unique styles, experiences, identities, abilities, ideas, and opinions while welcoming all people. Our policies promote fairness and the same treatment for all associates, ensuring everyone has the same access to opportunities for growth, development, and advancement. We transparently report on our workforce twice a year and maintain associate resource groups to foster engagement, networking, and a sense of community.
We also prioritize our communities through a shared value approach, complementing business with philanthropy. Last year, Walmart gave away over 8% of its profits through in-kind and cash gifts totaling more than $1.7 billion. By making Walmart a welcoming place where all people feel like they belong, we strengthen our business and our ability to serve the communities where we operate.
