About the Role
FedEx Freight is seeking a dedicated Freight Handler to support our dock operations. In this fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment, you will be the vital link in moving freight across the dock area and securing it for transport. This role is essential for ensuring that shipments are handled safely, documentation is accurate, and customer needs are met efficiently.
You will work independently or as part of a team to perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. Your day will involve verifying that documentation matches freight descriptions, securing loads with appropriate tools, and repairing damaged freight when necessary. Additionally, you may assist customers with freight inquiries and perform hostling duties if required.
The position operates in a dynamic dock environment where you will be exposed to varied weather conditions, exhaust, fumes, dust, and noise. Hours may vary based on operational needs, with shifts typically running from 17:00 to 21:00. Success in this role requires the ability to lift heavy items, bend, twist, and push or pull freight throughout the shift while maintaining a high standard of safety and compliance with all company policies and regulations.

Requirements
