About the Role
FedEx Freight is seeking a dedicated team member to transport freight across the dock area, ensuring seamless loading and unloading operations for trailers. This position is vital to maintaining the flow of goods in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment where frequent contact with service center personnel is standard.
The role involves a dynamic day-to-day rhythm, requiring the use of both motorized and manual equipment to handle freight of varying weights. You will verify documentation against freight descriptions, secure loads using appropriate tools, and assist customers with freight-related inquiries. The position may also include hostling duties, adding variety to the daily workflow.
Working Conditions
This role is based in a dock environment where you will be exposed to varied weather conditions, exhaust, fumes, dust, and noise. Hours may vary to meet operational needs, with shifts typically running from 04:00 to 09:00. The work requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift heavy dock plates, open trailer doors, and perform repetitive bending, twisting, and squatting throughout the shift.

Requirements
