As a Forklift Operator at Americold, you play a critical role in the safe and accurate movement of food products throughout our facility. You will be responsible for the receipt, storage, and shipment of goods, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently while adhering to strict safety standards.
Your work involves operating a variety of equipment, including sit-down and stand-up forklifts, high-reach forklifts, straddle trucks, and RF scanners. You will efficiently load and unload freight, stack and store merchandise, and assemble orders for shipment. A key part of your day includes checking freight for accuracy, damage, and infestation, as well as labeling, sorting, and packing items as directed.
You will work in a dynamic environment that includes controlled temperatures ranging from 32°F to -45°F, as well as outdoor conditions. The role requires physical stamina, including the ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy loads (up to 70 lbs.), and work in spaces with limited headroom or at heights up to 30 feet. You must maintain a clean and orderly work environment while meeting production standards.
