About the Role
As a Forklift Operator at Americold, you play a critical role in the safe and accurate movement of food products throughout our facility. You will be responsible for the receipt, storage, and shipment of goods, ensuring that inventory flows efficiently from dock to storage and back out again. This position requires a keen eye for detail to check freight for accuracy, damage, and infestation while maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.
The Environment
You will operate in a dynamic setting that includes both controlled indoor temperatures ranging from 32°F to -45°F and outdoor ambient conditions. The role demands physical stamina, as you may stand for up to 5 hours during 8-12 hour shifts and navigate spaces with limited headroom. You will also work at heights up to 30 feet, accessing elevated products from safety cages, and handle varying loads ranging from 10 to 70 pounds.
