About the Mission
We are launching a foundational initiative to improve maternal care in underserved rural communities through a new Family Medicine Obstetrics Fellowship Program. This mission-driven effort aims to redefine rural maternal care and medical education by providing high-quality, accessible services to women and children across Greenwood, Abbeville, Laurens, Saluda, McCormick, Edgefield, and Newberry Counties.
About the Role
As a core faculty member, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of family medicine obstetrics training. You will serve as a cornerstone of our academic team, teaching obstetrical care to residents and fellows while providing full-spectrum obstetrical care, including surgical OB, in collaboration with OB/GYNs and family physicians.
Your day-to-day will involve mentoring and supervising trainees in both inpatient and outpatient settings, leading outreach efforts to underserved populations, and contributing to curriculum development. You will foster a pro-woman, pro-child philosophy in all clinical and academic work within a supportive, interdisciplinary environment. The hospital's laborist program ensures a balanced lifestyle by minimizing night and weekend call commitments.
