Per Diem OB/GYN

About the Role

Under the direction of the Executive Vice President, Medical, the OB/GYN serves as a primary care provider for all AVENUE 360 patients. This role is designed to deliver high-quality, outpatient primary care tailored to a multicultural and multilingual patient population. The physician acts as the primary consultant for all female adult cases referred by other staff providers, ensuring a seamless continuum of care within the FQHC model.

The position involves providing comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care, ranging from prenatal and postnatal support to the treatment of diseases affecting the female reproductive system. Physicians are expected to develop individualized care plans that utilize available resources efficiently while adhering to generally accepted standards of practice and ACOG guidelines. The role also includes performing surgical procedures, both diagnostic and therapeutic, to preserve patient health and ensure safe deliveries.

Beyond clinical duties, the OB/GYN plays a vital role in community health by advising patients and community members on diet, hygiene, and disease prevention. The position requires active participation in internal meetings, committees, and on-call service rotations, as well as the supervision of medical assistants, lab personnel, and potentially mid-level physicians. Compliance with Joint Commission standards, funding source requirements, and HIPAA regulations is mandatory for all activities.

Hiring Process

Candidates selected for an interview will be evaluated based on their clinical expertise, cultural competency, and alignment with AVENUE 360's mission. The process includes a review of credentials, including valid Texas licensure, Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and current BLS certification. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred to best serve our patient population.
