This position serves as the central hub for maintaining a safe and operational work environment at the service center. The role is designed to ensure the facility, shop, grounds, and dock areas remain in optimal condition through proactive maintenance, timely repairs, and effective vendor coordination. As the primary liaison for facility needs, you will bridge the gap between daily operations and long-term infrastructure health, ensuring compliance with all company standards and local fire and safety codes.
Your day-to-day impact involves a blend of hands-on maintenance and strategic oversight. You will conduct weekly walks of the facility and yard to identify and address issues ranging from drywall and painting to basic plumbing, electrical work, and lighting. The role requires a versatile skill set to manage everything from HVAC preventative maintenance and dock door repairs to seasonal tasks like snow removal and landscaping. Beyond direct repairs, you will act as the scheduler and quality controller for third-party vendors, reviewing scopes of work and ensuring all external services are completed efficiently and to standard.
This role operates in a dynamic environment that requires adaptability to various physical conditions. You will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, and diesel fumes within the shop and facility. The position also involves handling hazardous materials shipped under DOT regulations and working outdoors in all weather types. Hours may fluctuate based on operational needs, and occasional travel to other centers may be required to support broader facility goals.
