About the Role
This position serves as the central point of contact for facility maintenance needs, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment for the service center. The role combines hands-on repair work with the oversight of vendor activities, acting as a liaison between facility personnel and external service providers.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
You will maintain the service center facility, shop, grounds, and dock area, performing essential repairs such as drywall, painting, basic plumbing, electrical work, lighting, and pothole fixes. The role involves proactive preventative maintenance on critical systems including HVAC, dock doors, levelers, fences, and gates, as well as monitoring fire sprinkler systems and managing drip drums.
In addition to in-house repairs, you will schedule and oversee third-party vendor work, reviewing scopes of work to ensure timely completion. Seasonal duties include applying ice melt, snow removal, and landscaping. You will also conduct weekly walks of the facility, yard, and fence to assess needs and ensure compliance with all company standards and local fire and safety codes.
Working Conditions
This role requires exposure to various environmental factors, including noise, vibration, dust, diesel fumes, and hazardous materials shipped under DOT regulations. You will work outdoors in all weather types, and hours may vary based on operational needs. Occasional travel to other centers may be required.
