For over four decades, DCI Donor Services has been a leader in working to end the transplant waiting list. Our unique approach allows for nationwide donation, transplantation, and distribution of organs and tissues while maintaining close ties to our local communities. We operate organ procurement and tissue recovery organizations—Sierra Donor Services and Tennessee Donor Services—across California, New Mexico, and Tennessee, alongside our Tissue Bank and Eye Bank.
Our performance is measured by the way we serve donor families and recipients; to be successful in this endeavor is our ultimate mission. We are committed to ensuring that all communities feel welcome and safe, serving as a model for fairness, belonging, and forward thinking through our employee-led strategy team.
Sierra Donor Services is seeking an External Affairs Director to join our team in saving lives. This position is designed to increase the organization’s reach and community standing through strategic community engagement and organ/tissue donation registration awareness initiatives. The incumbent will represent the organization at a wide array of community events, pursue corporate partnerships, and serve as a vital voice for the mission in the public sphere.
In this role, you will establish and maintain relationships with community groups, faith-based organizations, and major hospitals to promote donation. You will direct community relations programs, manage public education staff, and ensure the efficiency of donation-related events. The role also involves legislative representation, working with government entities to protect organizational interests and monitor regulatory activities. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership and the communications team to shape strategic goals, public relations, and digital presence, while supporting stakeholders with crisis communications and talking points.
Upon successful submission of your application, you will receive a confirmation email. The next step in the selection process is to complete a video screening. Instructions for this screening will be included in the confirmation email. Please note that you must complete the video screening within 5 days of submitting your application to be considered for the position.
DCI Donor Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE/AA) committed to diversity and inclusion. We consider qualified applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or veteran status.
