About the Role
Sodexo is seeking a dynamic Executive Chef to lead culinary operations at Ingleside at Rock Creek in Washington, DC. This culturally rich, not-for-profit Life Plan Community offers an engaged lifestyle with exceptional amenities, located steps from the beautiful Rock Creek Park.
In this role, you will lead a culinary team of approximately 20 professionals, overseeing food production, quality assurance, safety, and service across multiple dining venues. The ideal candidate is a culinary innovator and relationship builder who thrives in a high-end environment, enjoys engaging with residents, and balances operational excellence with personal connection. Many residents are former government officials, world travelers, and highly engaged community members, requiring a chef who is visible, approachable, and responsive to feedback. The typical shift is 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Sunday through Thursday.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleLead and manage a culinary team of approximately 20 professionals across multiple dining venues
- check_circleEnsure food and physical safety through annual training for all hourly associates
- check_circleImplement and standardize culinary systems including production, inventory control, and HACCP compliance
- check_circleConduct Gold Check audits, create action plans, and maintain audit documentation
- check_circleOversee procurement processes and manage vendor relationships for purchasing and financial audits
- check_circleMonitor FMS systems and standardize new menu implementations
- check_circleImprove and standardize catering and banquet services while creating menus based on client needs
- check_circleActively interact with residents and build strong relationships through visibility and responsiveness
Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

- verified3 years work experience in food or culinary services
