As a Driver/Courier at the Norfolk Navy Mailroom, you serve as a vital link in the secure delivery of documents, packages, and mail to various business concerns and governmental agencies. This full-time, non-exempt position is based in Norfolk, VA, and operates under the direction of the Norfolk Program Manager.
Your day involves driving a light truck on scheduled routes to deliver and pick up mail for designated government agencies and military commands. You will be responsible for loading only the mail scheduled for specific trips, ensuring timely departures, and delivering items to the correct addresses. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, including sorting, processing outbound mail, and ensuring no mail is left on the vehicle overnight. You will also maintain logs, capture performance metrics, and submit reports to the Program Manager while adhering to strict quality control and safety protocols.
Candidates must possess a valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and a documented driving history. Additionally, applicants must be able to read above a 6th-grade level, operate a personal computer, and obtain a Secret Clearance.
