The Residential Driver is the frontline of our waste removal services, dedicated to safely, efficiently, and courteously serving our community. This role is essential for maintaining clean neighborhoods and ensuring the smooth operation of our collection routes. You will be responsible for collecting solid waste and recyclables from curbside and backdoor locations, transporting them to post-collection facilities, and managing the equipment required to do so.
Your day begins with a thorough pre-trip safety inspection of your vehicle and equipment. Once on the route, you will operate a residential collection truck (side-load or rear-load), maneuvering through tight spaces and varying traffic conditions to collect waste. The role requires physical stamina to lift and carry items up to 100 pounds and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, from extreme heat to cold and rain. You will interact with customers daily, maintaining a professional demeanor while identifying and removing prohibited items from carts. Throughout the shift, you will document route progress, report any mechanical issues immediately, and ensure the vehicle remains clean and compliant with safety standards.
