At NetApp, your ideas power innovation. We lead in intelligent data infrastructure, delivering unified storage, integrated data services, and solutions that help organizations unlock the full potential of their data, from AI to multicloud. As the only enterprise-grade storage service natively embedded in Google Cloud, AWS, and Microsoft Azure, we empower customers to run everything from traditional workloads to enterprise AI with unmatched performance, resilience, and security.
We are on a path to $10B, and we need passionate teams to tackle real-world challenges and see their impact in how customers transform and grow. If you're ready to bring curiosity, creativity, and drive to every moment, NetApp is where your journey begins.
This Distinguished Engineer role reports into the Cloud Business Unit SVP & GM and serves as a technical leader responsible for building and scaling NetApp architecture across Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. You will collaborate with other technical leaders and software engineers to drive innovation, engineering excellence, and design scalable architectures for service fundamentals, developer velocity, and fault-tolerant control planes.
NetApp Distinguished Engineers are hands-on practitioners, not consultants. You are expected to devote 40% or more of your time to producing artifacts such as vision statements, design documents, and source code. In this capacity, you will act as a force multiplier, operating with independence to solve the most complex, cross-cutting, and ambiguous challenges. You will functionally decompose difficult problems into simple solutions, balance conflicting stakeholder objectives, and build trust by demonstrating empathy with customer needs.
We celebrate mold breakers, bold thinkers, and problem solvers. At NetApp, you won't wait for the perfect moment—you'll make it. We reward initiative, impact, and ownership, providing the flexibility to balance professional ambition with personal life. Here, differences are not just welcomed—they drive everything we do.
We embrace a hybrid working environment designed to strengthen connection, collaboration, and culture. Most roles will have some level of in-office and/or in-person expectations, which will be shared during the recruitment process.
Candidates will be evaluated on their ability to serve as a role model for the NetApp technical community and their experience in high-scale, geo-distributed applications. The process involves assessing technical depth, architectural vision, and cultural fit within our engineering community.
NetApp is firmly committed to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and to compliance with all federal, state, and local laws that prohibit employment discrimination based on age, race, color, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, religion, disability, genetic information, pregnancy, protected veteran status, and any other protected classification.
