At NetApp, your ideas power innovation. We lead in intelligent data infrastructure, delivering unified storage, integrated data services, and solutions that help organizations unlock the full potential of their data, from AI to multicloud. As the only enterprise-grade storage service natively embedded in Google Cloud, AWS, and Microsoft Azure, we empower customers to run everything from traditional workloads to enterprise AI with unmatched performance, resilience, and security.
We are on a path to $10B in value, and we need passionate teams to tackle real-world challenges that help customers transform and grow. At NetApp, you won't wait for the perfect moment—you'll make it. We celebrate mold breakers, bold thinkers, and problem solvers who reward initiative, impact, and ownership. Here, differences are not just welcomed—they drive everything we do.
This Distinguished Engineer role reports into the Cloud Business Unit SVP & GM and serves as a technical leader dedicated to building and scaling NetApp architecture across Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. You will collaborate with other technical leaders and software engineers to drive innovation and engineering excellence, focusing on service fundamentals like availability, reliability, performance, and scalability.
As a Distinguished Engineer, you are expected to be a hands-on practitioner, not a consultant. You will devote 40% or more of your time to producing artifacts such as vision statements, design documents, and source code, serving as a role model for the NetApp technical community. Your work will involve solving the most complex engineering problems in the space of service fundamentals, developer velocity, and designing fault-tolerant, highly available, and low-latency control plane architectures. You will also architect modern CI/CD infrastructure and cloud-native QA frameworks to support hundreds of developers.
We embrace a hybrid working environment designed to strengthen connection, collaboration, and culture for all employees. This means that most roles will have some level of in-office and/or in-person expectations, which will be shared during the recruitment process. We provide flexibility so you can balance professional ambition with your personal life.
