The Security Dispatcher serves as the central communications hub for shift officers, supervisors, and the broader community regarding all security-related matters. This position is critical for maintaining operational continuity and ensuring rapid, accurate information flow during daily activities.
The Dispatcher manages a high-volume environment by coordinating radio communications, handling incoming calls across three dedicated lines, and monitoring alarm system displays. A key responsibility involves maintaining a detailed, real-time log of all incidents, including dates, times, and pertinent details. This includes downloading daily crime logs and timely warnings, ensuring the dispatch logbook is current by removing outdated information.
The role also entails managing physical assets and external communications. The Dispatcher tracks the checkout and check-in of keys, recording the name, date, and time for every transaction. Additionally, the Dispatcher acts as the liaison for external agencies, contacting the Nashville Metro Police Department for reportable crimes and coordinating towing services when instructed by supervisors.
Candidates must possess a High School education or GED. While previous law enforcement experience is not required, the role demands excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in written documentation.
