About NBME

NBME is a not-for-profit organization specializing in the creation of assessments and learning tools for physicians and health professionals. Founded in 1915, our mission is to advance the assessment of these professionals to achieve optimal care for all, supporting the development of a highly effective, diverse, and compassionate healthcare workforce. We develop and manage the United States Medical Licensing Examination® and offer a comprehensive portfolio of assessment products for every stage of the medical school journey.

We are dedicated to advancing innovative assessment approaches through research, collaboration, and contributions to the medical education and assessment communities. In 2024, we expanded our capabilities to include simulation through the acquisition of MedVR Education. NBME believes that a key path to meeting our mission is collaborating with and supporting our communities, investing in fee assistance, scholarships, and pathway programs to aid learners and help support increased representation in healthcare.

At NBME, we continue to innovate and improve how we fulfill the evolving needs of the healthcare community. This commitment starts and ends with the people at NBME. By recruiting and empowering talented individuals from various disciplines and backgrounds—including professionals with diverse life experiences, abilities, and perspectives—we take a well-informed, robust approach to advancing medical education and assessment for years to come.

About the Role

The Disability Assessment Analyst II joins our Disability Services unit to review requests for test accommodations and make final decisions in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for NBME-owned and co-sponsored products. This role is critical to ensuring equitable access for examinees while maintaining the integrity of our assessments.

In this position, you will conduct thorough reviews of accompanying documentation, including clinical evaluations, psychoeducational assessments, neuropsychological evaluations, progress notes, medical records, and academic records. Beyond individual case reviews, you will serve as a knowledgeable resource and subject matter expert, providing excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders regarding disability documentation requirements and escalated issues. You will also consult with the Manager, Examinee Accommodations on various unit projects and contribute to the creation and implementation of departmental policies and practices.

This role is designated as hybrid, generally requiring onsite work an average of 2-3 times per month, with the ability to select a primary work location based on preference. We are open to considering candidates in PA, NJ, DE, and MD. Please note that onsite interviews and onboarding at our Philadelphia office may be required; advance notice will be provided to support planning.

Equal Opportunity

NBME is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We will consider all qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, religious practices and observances, national origin, pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions, status as a protected veteran or spouse/family member of a protected veteran, or disability.
