The Director of Clinical Education (DCE) serves as the primary liaison between the College, the Program Director, and affiliated clinical education sites for the Respiratory Care program. This role is dedicated to ensuring the quality, consistency, and accreditation compliance of all clinical learning experiences for students. The DCE works to foster an environment that embodies LSSC's core values of Caring, Communicating, Collaborating, and Celebrating.
In this position, you will not only oversee the administration and continuous review of clinical education but also maintain a faculty appointment. You are expected to teach up to nine credits per semester while coordinating the complex logistics of student placements, site evaluations, and faculty development. The role requires a deep commitment to respiratory care education and the ability to mentor students and clinical instructors effectively.
Candidates must meet specific CoARC and institutional faculty qualification requirements, including holding an active Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) license and relevant state licensure. The selection process involves verifying professional competence and experience in clinical teaching and mentoring within accredited programs.
