The Respiratory Therapist serves as a vital resource and educator for patients, caregivers, hospital staff, and students. In this advanced capacity, you will provide safe and effective respiratory care across a diverse range of populations, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. Your work is guided by discipline training, Clinical Practice Guidelines, and hospital standards and protocols.
Beyond direct patient care, this role involves independent action in cardiopulmonary assessment and monitoring, particularly during emergency responses. You will manage airway care, select appropriate ventilators and parameters, and consult with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure the appropriateness of patient care plans. In the absence of a supervisor, you may also function as a shift team leader, guiding the team through daily operations.
The environment is fast-paced, requiring the ability to handle multiple priorities and adapt to frequent changes. You will work in a setting that may involve noisy conditions and intense customer interactions, with physical demands including lifting, prolonged standing, and reaching.
Candidates must meet specific licensure and certification requirements to be considered. New hires on or after January 1, 2015, must hold a current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree from a CoARC accredited program and prior experience in a similar practice setting.
Depending on the specific unit assignment, this position may require rotating shifts, weekend and holiday coverage, and on-call availability.
We are an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to a diverse workforce. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, including disabled individuals and protected veterans.
