At Dynetek Solutions LLC, the Directional Boring Driller/Operator is a cornerstone of our operations in the Utilities, Power, Telecommunications, and Pipeline sectors. This role is designed for a skilled professional who approaches problem-solving with precision while prioritizing risk minimization on the job site. You will act independently to identify necessary resources before, during, and after drilling commences, ensuring projects are completed with minimal disruption to surrounding infrastructure.
Day in the Life
Your work involves setting up and skillfully operating horizontal directional drill equipment to install underground electric cables. You will conduct briefings to verify utility locations, use hand tools to spot existing utilities, and prepare the bore route. The role requires a hands-on approach to placing, removing, or maintaining underground utilities, which includes carrying heavy materials, jack hammering, shoveling, and pulling power cables.
You will be responsible for reading and interpreting machining instructions, job orders, blueprints, and process sheets to determine the correct sequence of operations, tooling, and speed rates. A significant portion of your day will be dedicated to site management: securing the work site, cleaning up after work is finished, and restoring the landscape to its original condition by laying dirt, sand, grass seed, and straw as needed. You may also be required to place temporary asphalt patches or concrete on streets and perform preventive maintenance on equipment, such as greasing, oiling, and making minor repairs.
Hiring Process
Candidates must possess a valid CDL and a ticketless driving record for the last three years. The selection process includes a pre-employment screening that covers a background check and drug testing to ensure compliance with all DOT requirements.
