As a Direct Support Professional, you will create meaningful relationships that motivate us all every day. In this role, you will provide direct support within a residential setting or periodic program, typically assisting 4 to 6 individuals (or up to 10 in periodic programs) with their daily lives.
Your day will involve delivering personalized support according to individual service plans, including socialization, health maintenance, and skill development. You will assist with activities of daily living such as personal care, housekeeping, recreational activities, transportation, and community integration. Whether accompanying individuals to medical appointments, administering medications, preparing meals according to specific dietary needs, or ensuring a safe and clean environment, your work directly contributes to the well-being and independence of those you serve.
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license in good standing. All applicants are required to undergo a criminal background check, including checks against the Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities and the Child Abuse Registry Information (CARI). Additionally, employees must submit to drug testing prior to employment and may be subject to random or for-cause testing. Successful completion of all required state-mandated training and certifications is necessary before starting work.
