AID of Indiana is a locally owned and operated organization dedicated to excellence in services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Headquartered in Fort Wayne, we pride ourselves on providing excellent care while placing a high value on the well-being of our employees. We believe that delivering the highest quality of care requires employing compassionate people who are shown appreciation and supported in a positive environment.
We are committed to promoting from within; many of our administrators, directors, and managers started in entry-level positions. We welcome current or former Caregivers, CNAs, and DSPs, as well as caring individuals without previous formal experience.
We are seeking Full-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes. As a DSP, you will be the cornerstone of a client's daily life, assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and hygiene tasks. Your day will involve a mix of in-home support and community engagement, including prepping meals, maintaining a clean living environment, and accompanying clients to activities in the community.
You will also play a key role in teaching life skills, following treatment plans, and promoting self-advocacy. While the primary setting is an assisted living residential home, the role may require transporting clients or accompanying them to community events. This position is ideal for those who are compassionate, reliable, and capable of working independently, including the ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
AID of Indiana makes the transition into this career seamless by providing all necessary training and certification, which is fully paid for by the company. We look for candidates who are ready to commit to 12-hour rotating shifts and alternating weekends. Once hired, you will join a supportive team that values growth and internal advancement.
AID of Indiana is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce. We value the unique backgrounds and perspectives that every individual brings to our team.
