Walmart is expanding its workforce across local retail stores, seeking Developmental Technicians to join a dynamic team dedicated to maintaining the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of our facilities. As the U.S.'s largest private employer, we aim to create a culture where every associate feels valued, rooted in respect for the individual. Our vision is "everyone included," fostering a workplace where associates, customers, and suppliers thrive together.
We operate with a shared value approach, complementing business with philanthropy to strengthen the communities we serve. Last year alone, we gave away over 8% of our profits through cash and in-kind gifts totaling more than $1.7 billion. By making Walmart a welcoming place where all people feel like they belong, we strengthen our business and improve our ability to serve customers.
As a Developmental Technician specializing in General Facilities and Maintenance, you will play a crucial role in keeping our stores running smoothly. Working under the guidance of the local General Maintenance Manager, you will follow established schedules to perform inspections, cleaning, and repairs. This is a fast-paced, welcoming environment where your expertise and dedication will make a real impact on the daily operations of the store.
You will utilize multiple craft skills—including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and material handling—to maintain and repair facilities, equipment, and assets. Your day will involve responding to emergency maintenance calls, diagnosing issues through inspections, and documenting repair activities using our work order management system. This role is designed for those who want to grow their skills while supporting the team that keeps our doors open for millions of shoppers.
Candidates selected for an interview will be contacted to discuss the role further. During the interview process, details regarding the additional bonus incentive available for this position will be disclosed. Please ensure the information provided in your application is accurate.
Walmart Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer- By Choice. We believe we are best equipped to help our associates, customers, and the communities we serve live better when we really know them. Our policies, practices, and programs promote fairness and the same treatment for all associates. Everyone in our workforce has the same access to opportunities for growth, development, and advancement. We transparently report on our workforce twice a year and maintain associate resource groups to further engagement, networking, and a sense of community.
We also strive to serve our customers with quality goods at everyday low prices. To support this, we operate sensory-friendly hours in all stores from 8am to 10am daily and offer Caroline's Carts, a specially designed shopping cart for children and adults with disabilities.
