Bonton Farms is more than a community garden; it is a catalyst for social impact and community transformation in Dallas. As a mission ambassador, you will help tell the story of how we cultivate food, foster relationships, and empower our neighbors. This role sits at the intersection of development, storytelling, partnerships, and program activation, bridging the gap between our daily operations at the farm, market, and caf, and the broader DFW Airport programming and retail partnerships that sustain us.
The Development Coordinator serves as a vital relationship builder, dedicated to capturing the authentic voice of our community. You will be the primary point of contact for our volunteer network, transforming casual service into deep, lasting connections that often evolve into long-term donor relationships. Your day will involve coordinating complex logistics for farm tours and engagement events, drafting compelling impact stories that highlight our apprentices and partners, and supporting the Director of Development in cultivating corporate and individual giving opportunities.
This position is ideal for someone who is relational, organized, and entrepreneurial. You will work collaboratively with farm leaders, the marketing team, and program directors to ensure every interaction—from a volunteer orientation to a donor appreciation event—reinforces the emotional connection to our mission. You will help translate the success of our airport retail partnerships into compelling narratives that drive support and visibility for Bonton Farms.
Interested candidates should submit their resume and a cover letter detailing their experience in nonprofit development or communications. The interview process typically includes:

Bonton Farms is a non-profit organization headquartered in Dallas, Texas, dedicated to fostering human flourishing within the South Dallas neighborhood of Bonton. The organization operates on the principle that people require specific conditions to thrive, focusing on seven essential pillars: health and wellness, economic stability, safe and affordable housing, transportation, community connection, education, and access to fair credit. Similar to a natural ecosystem, the group maintains that imbalance in these areas causes the entire community structure to deteriorate.
Operating in Dallas County, Bonton Farms serves a population where approximately 40% of residents live below the poverty line. The organization works to dismantle long-standing systems of inequity that have affected the area for a century. By providing necessary tools and resources, the group aims to replace systemic barriers with opportunities for growth.
Driven by community power, Bonton Farms seeks to reimagine a local environment where essential life tools are universally accessible rather than rare commodities. The mission centers on making thriving the standard expectation for residents, ensuring that the courageous people of Bonton have the support needed to overcome historical challenges.
