About the Role

The Deskside Support Specialist serves as a critical frontline resource for end users, bridging the gap between technical infrastructure and daily productivity. This role is designed to provide immediate, in-person assistance for a wide array of applications and hardware, ensuring that legal professionals and staff can operate without interruption. Beyond troubleshooting, the position involves a strong educational component, offering informal and one-on-one training to help users maximize their tools.

You will be the face of IT in the office, handling everything from setting up new workstations and managing loaner equipment pools to resolving complex escalated issues from the Help Desk. The role requires a blend of technical precision and customer service excellence, as you will interact daily with users and vendors to maintain a smooth, efficient environment. Whether it is configuring videoconferences for local meetings or providing after-hours support during critical refresh cycles, you will play a vital part in the firm's operational continuity.

Key Responsibilities

  • check_circleSupport hardware including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
  • check_circleInstall pre-approved software and hardware in accordance with departmental guidelines
  • check_circleProvide second-level support for issues escalated from the IT Help Desk
  • check_circleEscalate unresolved problems and assist with documentation and communication
  • check_circleMaintain recordkeeping including call tracking, time reporting, and equipment inventory
  • check_circleManage loaner equipment pool and assist with refresh cycles
  • check_circleSet up videoconferences and presentations for the local office
  • check_circleProvide after-hours on-call support on a rotating basis
  • check_circleTravel to other offices as needed for projects or coverage
  • check_circleProvide deskside and phone support for applications including Microsoft Office, Windows, and proprietary software
  • check_circlePrepare and install laptops and desktops while coordinating vendor maintenance and repairs

Requirements
