This position is located within the Clerk's Office at the Division of Administrative Hearings. The office supports the judicial process by ensuring the integrity and accuracy of official legal records. As a Select Exempt Service (SES) role, this position offers job stability within an enriching and engaging work environment where precision is paramount to the administration of justice.
We are seeking a meticulous and highly detail-oriented Legal Proofreader to assist judges with reviewing proposed orders. In this role, you will serve as the final quality control checkpoint before documents become part of the official record. Your day-to-day work involves identifying subtle errors, inconsistencies, omissions, and formatting issues in complex legal and administrative documents. You will work independently with minimal supervision to ensure that names, dates, case numbers, and citations are accurate, maintaining the highest degree of confidentiality and meeting strict deadlines.
Candidates are evaluated based on their previous knowledge, experience, and education. The selection process may include written exercises, work samples, skills tests, or interviews. If you are selected to move forward, you will be notified via email. It is critical to reply within the designated timeframe to remain in consideration.
