The Delivery Driver is the vital link between Golden Organics/Loco Foods and our customers, responsible for operating trucks locally to transport products safely and efficiently. This role ensures that goods reach customers on time while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality. Drivers also play a key part in the supply chain by returning freight from various vendors to the facility (back haul).
Your day begins with a thorough pre-trip inspection of the truck and trailer to ensure safe operation. You will receive work orders, verify loads, and communicate with your supervisor to maintain the delivery schedule. Throughout the route, you will interact professionally with customers and vendors, verifying delivery loads, positioning products, and completing transaction documentation.
The role involves significant physical activity, including loading and unloading trucks, and using manual and powered pallet jacks to deliver products to customer storage facilities. You will strictly adhere to product and temperature-sensitive protocols, ensuring proper stacking, securing loads with bars and straps, and maintaining vehicle cleanliness. After deliveries, you may report to the warehouse for additional duties.
Candidates must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License with a good driving record (MVR required). While a High School Diploma or GED is preferred, relevant experience in commercial driving or foodservice delivery is highly valued. Applicants should be prepared to demonstrate strong customer service skills, basic math abilities for handling cash transactions, and the physical capacity to lift up to 75 pounds and work in various weather conditions.
We operate in a dynamic environment that requires flexibility. Drivers must be comfortable working in all weather conditions, often starting at early morning times, and may be required to work overtime, weekends, and holidays. Safety is paramount; all team members must wear steel-toed or composite-toed shoes and follow strict food safety and quality management systems. We value reliability, problem-resolution skills, and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
