We are seeking a Data Quality Engineer with deep technical expertise to join our team in Montgomery, AL. This is a critical 3-month contract role with the potential for extension, designed for an individual who thrives in establishing data quality processes from the ground up. The ideal candidate is a strong data analyst who combines advanced SQL skills with a robust understanding of data pipelines, modeling, and cloud environments.
In this position, you will ensure that our data is not only clean but also fully prepared to support advanced analytics and AI applications. You will work directly with analytics and engineering teams to define quality standards, automate testing at scale, and drive root cause analysis for data issues. Your work will bridge the gap between raw data and actionable insights, ensuring reliability for data scientists and business stakeholders alike.
Candidates for this onsite role should be prepared to demonstrate their ability to build data quality frameworks in low-maturity environments. The interview process will focus on technical proficiency in SQL, Python, and data modeling, as well as your experience with tools like MS Purview and cloud platforms.
Please note that this position requires full-time onsite presence from day one in Montgomery, AL. We are looking for professionals with 8-10 years of experience in data quality and engineering to lead these initiatives immediately.

Knowledge of DAMA-DMBoK, DCAM, MDM concepts, and governance frameworks. Experience with Microsoft Purview, Fabric, MS Power BI, and Key Vault. Familiarity with AI/ML data readiness and feature-store-aligned data structuring. Cloud data engineering exposure (Azure, Databricks, GCP). Master's degree. Certifications: DAMA CDMP (Associate/Practitioner), EDM Council DCAM, ASQ Data Quality Credential, Collibra Data Steward Certification, Certified Data Steward (eLearningCurve), or Cloud/AI certifications (Azure, Databricks, Google).
